But before we dig in, my name is Marcie Vaske and I'm a licensed nutritionist with Flusso Nutrients and at Flusso Nutrients, we work really hard to educate you on different types of supplements so that you can make an educated choice on what's best for you.

If you, by doing some of these videos and listening to 'em, you can understand how they can be used and what they can be used for to benefit you.
So back to our topic of
Iberogast benefits and how does it work?
So obviously I work in digestive health, and so you see us talk a lot about digestive supplements, and today is definitely one that gets thrown around, but not a lot of people know about.
I've also struggled with my own GI issues throughout the years, and so I'm always looking for natural ways to help symptoms as not only for myself and maybe not so much anymore, but definitely for my clients who are really struggling today.
Like I mentioned, we're going to talk about Iberogast.
What is Iberogast?
And what it is is a herbal liquid that has been used in Europe for decades to treat various types of digestive symptoms.
It's actually made up of nine different herbs and some of them being chamomile, peppermint, and even lemon balm.
And each property of these nine different plant extracts help to support GI symptoms.
Now with Iberogast, a really unique formulation, it helps synergistically support all these different kinds of symptoms which we'll chat about in just a moment.
And this way, this is how it helps our gastrointestinal system really work better. Iberogast has been shown to help in gut motility, so what it helps to do is move the peristalsis of our intestinal tract properly.
Iberogast and Gut Health
So for example, if you have constipation, a lot of sometimes peristalsis can be an issue, and so we want to get it going.
If you have diarrhea, we want to slow it down. And so Iberogast helps to bring that back into a proper flow or a proper peristalsis to help support good gut motility.
Another symptom that people struggle with gut issues is inflammation in the gut.
And Iberogast has also been shown to help reduce that inflammation in the gut and calm it down.
And so if you've ever had gut stuff, you've maybe felt like, I just feel like my insides are inflamed, and a barrel gas can really help reduce that.
Another great thing about Iberogast is that it can help to support digestive enzyme function.
And when we eat food, we have digestive enzymes that start to come out to digest our food and break it down into usable nutrients as well as helping to absorb that into our body.
And so Iberogast can stimulate that digestive enzyme function and helping to give you a little extra support when eating food and digestion.
Iberogast also helps on the gut - brain axis, meaning that it helps our vagus nerve and our gut and our brain talk to each other.
And so sometimes with different types of symptoms or even just IBS with irritable bowel syndrome, people will also have a situation where it's stress induced symptoms.
And so by using Iberogast that can help calm that down and help your gut and brain talk better to one another so that you're not feeling the stress in your gut.
So not only can Iberogast work with our gut motility, help reduce stress and our gut brain access, talk to one another, help to improve our digestive function or our digestive enzyme function, but also helps keep our flora in our intestinal tract healthier and more diverse, which is something that's very important for overall gut health.
And if you're somebody who struggles with even bloating and gas, ibar gas can really help with that as well. And the way that it does is what I was talking about earlier with that motility function that it helps support the peristalsis.
It also helps to then reduce bloating and move gas through. So sometimes we get trapped gas if we struggle with a lot of gas.
And by moving the peristalsis that just helps things move through, brings down bloating and gets rid of the gas. So all of the benefits of Iberogast sound great.
If you struggle with irritable bowel syndrome, which kind of makes up all of those symptoms and issues that I just talked about, you're probably thinking, okay, well it sounds good, but does it really work?
Does Iberogast Work?
Of course, everybody will react to it differently. That's with any supplement you take, any protocol you do, your body is you.
And so going into it, taking it for a certain symptom, let's say it's for bloating, and it may help you wonderfully, but your best friend it might not do anything for, and that's not uncommon.
But overall, about 85% of users who do use it say that Iberogast really did help their symptoms.
I know in the past when my gut was really bad years ago, I did try and it did help, and it was probably one of the things that I was surprised that it helped, but it did reduce symptoms and gave me a reduction in that and helped a lot.
Again, I think it's worth trying, but don't be disappointed if it doesn't work. It's just who you are and what your gut symptoms are like.
So if you choose to use it, how do you incorporate it into your day?
How To Use Iberogast?
And the ideal is to do 20 drops of Iberogast three times a day. Ideally, you want to take these 20 drops shortly after a meal to help absorption and effectiveness of it.
Now, it is a liquid, as I said, 20 drops. So you can put it right on your tongue or you can put it in water, you can put it in juice.
It does have a little bit of a taste kind of strong, but everybody's different, of course, of how they taste stuff. So just however you can get it down and feel comfortable taking it. But I would do 20 drops three times a day after your meals.
Now, with any kind of supplement medication, whatever you're taking, there's always the possible side effects.
Iberogast Side Effects
And with Iberogast side effects can be if you have a little bit mild GI discomfort.
And if that happens after you've taken 20 drops, then you can just drop the dosage down and see if that works better for you.
Everybody again, is a little different with that. So it's nothing to be super alarmed about, but it can happen.
People who shouldn't take it obvious would be people who are pregnant.
So just staying away from any kind of herbs or plant extracts like Iberogast is. And of course, anybody who has any allergies to certain plants or herbs.
And so otherwise, Iberogast is really, really well tolerated.
And if it sounds like something that might help your symptoms that you're feeling, I would definitely give it a shot. So now you have one more tool in your toolbox.
I like to have lots of tools in my toolbox for gut health because sometimes one thing works and another thing doesn't.
And Iberogast has been shown over the years, and obviously in Europe it's been used for decades to really stand behind their name as well as really reduce those symptoms.
So thank you for watching today, and we'll see you next time.
