Hi, I'm Katie Bailey. I'm a registered dietitian at Flusso Nutrients where we provide supplement education and professional quality supplement options for you to make the world of nutrition supplements a little bit easier to navigate.

As always, be sure to check with your main nutrition literate healthcare provider before starting anything new. As we can't know your full medical history to provide a personalized recommendation.

So without further ado, let's jump into today's topic.

What are seasonal allergies and what are some of the common symptoms associated with them?

So as the seasons change, many individuals experience the unpleasant symptoms of seasonal allergies.

Seasonal allergies are also maybe known as hay fever or allergic rhinitis.

And these are allergic reactions or hypersensitivity to the exposure of allergens in the environment like pet dander, pollen, dust, and mold, just to name a few that occur during certain times of the year.

The immune system reacts to these allergens and chemicals called histamines are released to help fight off the allergens.

This immune response leads to many uncomfortable and unpleasant symptoms like itchiness, sneezing, coughing, watering, and itchy eyes, a runny nose and nasal congestion.

And these symptoms are going to vary or range from mild to severe depending on the individual's sensitivity as well as the exposure to the allergen.

How are allergies treated conventionally and how are natural remedies beneficial?

So seasonal allergies have been managed through various conventional treatments such as anti-histamines, decongestants, nasal, corticosteroid, sprays, immunotherapy, as well as allergy shots.

And although these treatments may be effective for many individuals, there is a growing interest in finding natural remedies to help alleviate symptoms as these come with potentially less side effects than these conventional medications.

What is natural d-hist and how does it work?

So natural d-hist is a dietary supplement that's been formulated to provide natural support for individuals suffering from seasonal allergies.

It's a unique blend of flavonoids, antioxidants, enzymes, and botanicals designed to provide comprehensive support for symptoms associated with environmental allergens.

It consists of quercetin, vitamin C, bromelain, NAC, and stinging nettle.

This combination helps to promote healthy sinus and nasal pathways. Quercetin is a flavonoid that's found in fruits and vegetables like apples and berries and onions, and it has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C as we know, is a antioxidant that plays a crucial role in supporting our immune system, but it has also been shown to have antihistamine effects.

Bromelain

Bromelain is an enzyme that's derived from pineapple and it has anti-inflammatory and anti swelling properties.

NAC

NAC is a form of the amino acid cysteine, which is a precursor to glutathione, which is a powerful antioxidant in the body.

Stinging Nettle

And then lastly, stinging nettle is a plant that is believed to have antihistamine properties.

Bromelain and quercetin help to reduce inflammation in the nasal pathways and airways.

Stinging nettle is going to be a natural antihistamine, which is going to block the release of histamine as well as prevent an allergic reaction.

Vitamin C and NAC are going to support the immune system and reduce that oxidative stress that is associated with allergies.

And these ingredients work together to alleviate these symptoms associated with allergies, but also without that potential side effect that we see with a lot of conventional medications.

It's important to note with this supplement that there is a loading dose and a maintenance dose and consistency is going to be key for experiencing the benefits.

So it's advised for the loading dose to take 2 capsules 3 times a day for the first 7 to 10 days, and then after that the maintenance dose is 2 capsules each day.

What are the benefits of natural d-hist and how does it compare to other treatments?

So the benefit of using natural d-hist is that it provides a non-drowsy, non-habit forming alternative to allergy medication.

It supports the body's natural defense mechanisms against allergens and can help reduce the inflammation and oxidative stress that's associated with allergies.

It offers a safe and gentle option that can be used in conjunction with other treatments if needed.

But as always, be sure to check with your healthcare provider before starting anything new so that they can make sure that it's a right fit for you as well as it's not going to interact with anything that you are currently taking.

When comparing natural d-hist to other over the counter medications, there's few differences to consider.

The first is that natural d-hist contains natural ingredients while a lot of the over the counter medications contain synthetic antihistamines and decongestants.

Natural d-hist is generally well tolerated with minimal side effects while other over-the-counter medications may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or dry mouth.

And then lastly, natural d-hist supports the body's natural defense mechanisms while other medications block or suppress the allergic response.

Now, it's important to note that while natural d-hist is a natural alternative, it may not provide the immediate or as potent relief as some of the over the counter medications.

So what are some precautions to be aware of?

While natural d-hist is generally considered safe and well tolerated, there are some potential side effects or precautions to be aware of.

The first is that bromelain should not be taken with blood thinning medication as it can increase the potential for excessive bleeding.

Quercetin can also interact with certain medications like antibiotics and blood pressure medication, which is why it's important to speak with your provider before starting anything new.

And then lastly, stinging nettle, NAC and vitamin C has the potential to cause mild nausea or diarrhea in some individuals.

D-Hist Wrap-Up

So to wrap up our topic for today, seasonal allergies can cause many unpleasant symptoms, but the good thing is there are natural alternatives that can be beneficial in helping to alleviate symptoms.

Natural d-hist provides a blend of natural ingredients that helps to support the body's natural defense mechanisms and reduce inflammation to help alleviate the symptoms of seasonal allergies.

It's important to note that because we're all unique, natural d-hist may not be suitable or effective for every single person, which is why it's crucial to work with your healthcare provider, especially if you have any underlying medical conditions or are taking any current medications.
